The time for turkey and tippling is over however. Tennis is back and I’m here to enjoy/analyse/scream-in-glee-at every moment of it with you.
Here’s what you can expect from On The Line in 2023…
Change In Website
You may have noticed we’re back to Substack! We’ve moved from onthelinetennis.uk back to onthelinetennis.substack.com. Here’s what that means for you…
No more paid subscriptions. All our content is free - Substack is a much more accommodating host website for free content.
Every articles has been transferred.
Did you have a free subscription last year? You can catch up on some of the older paid content now if you like (from last year, I’d recommend Swiatek’s win over Samsonova in Stuttgart, Alcaraz’s title in Miami and Carreno Busta’s title in Montreal).
The podcast episodes haven’t been transferred but you can access them through the usual gross companies (Spotify/Youtube/Google/Amazon/Apple). Future episodes will be emailed through Substack.
Less articles. A prerequisite for On The Line? I need to be enjoying what I’m creating. Apart from valuing my own time, my enjoyment tends to shine through in my content. A lot of work went into some of my weekly articles from last year for little reward - this year, I’ll be putting a lot more of that effort into the podcast. It’s easier, more people will see/listen to it and - best of all - I enjoy making the podcast more than writing.
There will still be articles but they will be limited to more important matches and/or when I think an article is the most appropriate medium. Keep in mind Prime Video have locked down on GIF creation so article writing may be much more difficult!
The comments section returns. All our posts have a comments section again! Feel free to let me know what you’re thinking at any time (not that though!).
Change In Brand
Wondering who the hell’s been talking to you for the last couple of minutes?
Well On The Line has changed brand! We have a beautiful new logo courtesy of Brad Cunningham (click Brad’s name if you need any graphic design work done, particularly for packaging - I couldn’t recommend him more).
You may even see our snazzy new logo at some tennis tournaments around the West of Scotland!
The Schedule
What can you expect from On The Line in the near future? Here’s a rough schedule for the next couple of months…
Early January.
A welcome back episode will be released next week with John Silk talking about how all the players are looking before Oz.
I’ll also be releasing some content breaking down Break Point, the Netflix docuseries.
Late January.
I’ll be going all-out for the Australian Open. There’ll be a few host appearances on Talking Tennis…
Some exciting guests will be joining me on the podcast for a mid-week recap and some in-depth final analyses.
I’ll be on Twitter covering all the goings-on as much as I can.
February.
February’s a relatively quiet month but I’ll still be covering plenty including the Golden Swing and the WTA 1000 in Dubai.
March.
I’ll be in California in March! I’ll be giving you all the latest straight from Indian Wells… Whether that’s inside or outside the stadium grounds remains to be confirmed 😝
