Complete System Architecture
The finished tower model. Eight layers, one system.
The Tower
Every diagram in this book is a smaller sketch of this exact structure. Read it bottom-up for force flow, top-down for gaze/decision flow.

The Eight Layers
Layer 8 (Peak): COGNITIVE DECISION
- Label: Decision
- Concept: Hư Thức, Strategy, Play Plan
- Action: Formulate tactical decisions, create internal plan
- Flow direction: Bidirectional (top of tower)
Layer 7: VISUAL-VESTIBULAR
- Label: Eye Control
- Concept: Q-Focus, Q-Intensity, Quiet Eye
- Action: Filter visual info, stabilize gaze (Hold +0.1s)
Layer 6: SOMATIC SENSATION
- Label: Body Feel
- Concept: Root Centering, Body Awareness
- Action: Establish internal balance, manage physical presence
Layer 5: STRUCTURAL ALIGNMENT
- Label: Core Stability
- Concept: 45°-Alignment, Rotational Axis
- Action: Ensure biomechanical integrity, manage posture
Layer 4: DYNAMIC MOTION

Layer 2: EXPRESSION (JIN)
- Label: Internal Power
- Concept: Jin Internal Power, Release
- Action: Project force into shot, complete loop (Release +0.25s)

- Action: Step and synchronize prep (Unit Turn -0.2s)
- Icon: Braided rope base
Flow Directions
↑ Information / Force (UP)
Force originates at the foundation (footwork) and propagates upward through the layers:
FOOTWORK → JIN → IMPULSE → MOTION → ALIGNMENT → SENSATION → VISION → DECISION
↓ Gaze / Decision (DOWN)
Conscious decision and gaze direction (Quiet Eye) cascade downward to direct each lower layer of execution:
DECISION → VISION (Quiet Eye) → SENSATION → ALIGNMENT → MOTION → IMPULSE → JIN → FOOTWORK
Why This Architecture Matters
Most tennis instruction treats strokes as isolated technique. This tower shows that every stroke is the simultaneous expression of all eight layers. A forehand isn't just an arm motion — it's the visible output of an integrated mind-body system.
Break one layer, break all strokes. That's the diagnostic principle behind the CORE Diagnostic and the Fault Diagnosis Master Flowchart.
