DET (Dynamic Energy Transfer)

The Concept

Your body is a transmission system. Energy doesn't start in the arm — it flows from the ground, through the core, and out through the racquet head.

The Unified Energy Equation

$$E_{total} = F_{muscle} + I_{neuro} + GRF_{ground}$$

Breaking this down: $F_{muscle}$ is muscle fiber contraction — the most basic contributor, and the least efficient if it's working alone. $I_{neuro}$ is the signal from the brain — precise timing is what turns effort into explosiveness. $GRF_{ground}$ is ground reaction force, the free and enormous "secret weapon" underneath every stroke.

The Target

Aim for a transfer rate of 92% or higher. Energy leaks happen at loose joints — bent knees that collapse, floppy wrists that absorb rather than pass on force.

The Central Axis

The key action is maintaining your Central Axis — keeping the spine upright — to prevent that energy from dissipating before it reaches the racquet.

See the Neuro-Kinetic Fusion page for how this energy flow gets synchronized, the Dynamic Inertia Transfer page for optimizing how that energy interacts with racquet mass, the DET deep-dive chapter for the full treatment, the master equations page for every formula in the system, and the DET drills page for practice exercises.
