Discus Throw — Kinetic Sequence (Áp dụng cho Tennis)¶

Trong track and field, discus throw là dynamic event cao, power generated qua full 1.5-turn rotational sequence. Thay vì một "position" đơn lẻ, thrower di chuyển qua series of critical, high-precision body alignments để maximize centripetal force + kinetic transfer.
The Kinetic Sequence (5 phases)¶
1. The Starting Position (The Wind-Up)¶
- Back of the circle
- Thrower đứng ở back, facing completely away from target
- Feet spread slightly wider than shoulder-width
- 1-2 preliminary swings (wind-ups) để:
- Establish rhythm
- Shift CoG over left leg
2. The Entry Phase (The Turn)¶
- Weight shifts dynamically to left foot
- Left knee + toe pivot toward direction of throw
- Right leg sweeps wide để generate maximum angular momentum
- Throwing arm stays trailed far behind the body → tạo stretch-shortening cycle ở core
3. The Airborne / Drive Phase¶
- Push off left foot → briefly airborne as drive across center of ring
- Right foot targets exact center of throwing circle
- Land on ball of foot với knee bent để absorb + re-direct force
4. The Power Position (Maximum tension)¶
Most critical structural alignment
- Right foot anchored in center of ring
- Left foot plants quickly near front edge (tạo "block")
- Hips turned forward, upper torso + throwing arm still twisted backward

5. The Delivery & Release¶
- Right hip snaps violently forward and upward
- Energy transfers up through core
- Left side acts as rigid brake (blocking) → forces all velocity into releasing arm
- Release at shoulder height, mechanical launch angle 34° to 40°

3 Core Mechanical Checkpoints¶
1. The Long Lever¶
- Throwing arm phải completely relaxed and extended throughout rotation
- Tensing bicep or pulling discus inward → shortens the radius
- → Drastically reduces linear velocity at release
2. Torque Generation (Hip-Shoulder Separation)¶
- Lower body must always lead upper body
- In power position:
- Hips face target
- Shoulders remain turned back
- → Stretches large core muscles → snap back như massive rubber band
3. The Dynamic Block¶
- Left leg must plant firmly and straighten completely right before delivery
- Instantly halts forward linear momentum of lower body
- → Transfers all accumulated kinetic energy directly up into chest, shoulder, arm

= Exactly the difference between static Discobolus idea and modern rotational mechanics
- Bending forward: shortens lever, collapses left side, moves CoG over toes. Lose radius, can't block.
- Bending backward (side-bending away from target) while staying behind knee line: keeps throwing arm long + relaxed, maintains hip-shoulder separation, lets left leg act as rigid brake → all velocity goes into discus
