DIT (Dynamic Inertia Transfer)¶
The Concept¶
Use the racquet's own mass to let the racquet do the work for you.
Static Weight vs. Swingweight¶
Static weight is the racquet's total mass in grams — it decides how heavy or light the racquet feels in the hand. Swingweight is the racquet's resistance to rotating around the wrist axis — it decides how the racquet actually performs during the swing.
The Moment of Inertia Formula¶
$$I = \int \rho(x) \, x^2 \, dx$$
Because distance $x$ is squared in this equation, a single gram of lead tape placed at 12 o'clock on the racquet head affects swingweight many times more than the same gram placed near the handle.
Conservation of Momentum¶
$$p = m \times v$$

The DIT Formula¶
$$DIT = \frac{m_{player} \cdot I_{swing} \cdot \Delta\omega}{1}$$
The point of this: to swing a heavier racquet without slowing down, you need to use body weight together with DET to "pull" the racquet through, rather than muscling it with the arm alone.
Lead Tape Strategy¶

Prerequisites¶
This only works if you already have DET in place to channel the force, NKF in place for correct timing, and a wrist stability index ($K_{wrist}$) of at least 0.85 to protect the joint.
Watch Out¶
$$\tau = F_{impact} \times L_{lever}$$
That's the torque that rebounds back into the wrist on impact. If the wrist is loose without adequate stability underneath it, this is exactly what leads to tennis elbow.
